The Royal British Legion is the UK’s largest Armed Forces charity, providing lifelong support for serving and ex serving military personnel and their families. Through direct welfare services, campaigns and issuing grants to smaller charities, they maintain a comprehensive support network for the UK Armed Forces community.
Ben France, Head of Corporate Partnerships at the Legion said: “With an ever increasing range of Poppy products on offer, we’re excited to be partnering with Gardman for another year. The money raised through the sale of the Poppy products will enable the Legion to continue its work providing lifelong care and support to current and ex-serving personnel and their families. As the commemoration of the centenary reaches its peak this year, we’re thrilled that Gardman is joining us in saying Thank You to the First World War generation”
Gardman are the UK’s leading garden products and wild bird care supplier, and supply to hundreds of retail stores and independent garden centres. Together with The Royal British Legion, they are looking to raise an impressive £400,000 throughout 2018. Now in their third partnership year, the relationship between the two organisations is beneficial for the Legion’s work in supporting the Armed Forces community.
Gardman are also a Thank You partner in the Legion’s Thank You movement in this centenary year. They will be sharing the Thank You message on all of their packaging and encouraging their customers to find out more on the Legion’s website.
The Peterborough-based company began their partnership with the charity in August 2016 and have raised over £500,000 for the Legion since.
Their 2018 target is now double that of 2016 and they hope to raise that through sales of their extended Poppy range. This year, you can purchase a Poppy Bird House, Poppy Bird Feeder, Poppy Solar Light, Poppy Glass Bird Bath or Bird Table or a large decorative Scarlet Poppy for your garden.
What is it?
100 years on from the Armistice Agreement and we are still living in a world shaped by the sacrifices of the First World War generation. It was a time of destruction, but also of change and progression. The Legion is saying thank you to those who rebuilt a world that was broken, and made it better whilst doing soTo find out more about the movement and how you can get involved, visit www.rbl.org.uk/thankyou.
How are Gardman getting involved?
Gardman are a partner in The Royal British Legion’s Thank You movement. They will be sharing the Thank You logo and prompting customers to visit the Thank You hub throughout the 100-day countdown to Armistice. Education and exposure are key parts of the movement, and the Legion are grateful that Gardman will be sharing the message with so many of their customers.
